Handheld Computers At Moravian School
This is an example from 8th grade where students used Cells to enter information from their Math text book to find the mean, median and mode. Once that was complete it was easy to add “yourself” into the spreadsheet and manipulate the numbers to see how changing the numbers impacted the resulting answers.
7th graders use Cells as they learn about percentages, parts of a whole, and how to make percentages.
FreeWrite is a word processor, and here the students answers questions posed after playing
"Virus" on the handheld.
Virus is a simulation program that helps students better understand the spread of disease.
